Benjamin J. Steinberg is a partner and chair of Criminal Defense at Myers Law Group. Ben was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
Prior to joining Myers Law Group, Ben focused his practice on civil litigation, particularly in the fields of medical malpractice and mass tort product liability in both state and federal courts. He now focuses his practice on both civil litigation and criminal defense, which he has practiced for over a decade.
As both a public and private attorney, Ben has represented hundreds of defendants in criminal and juvenile matters from the pre-trial process through trial and appeal. He has also assisted various medical and other licensed professionals with regard to investigations by regulatory agencies including various professional licensing boards, the FBI, the DEA, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Office of Inspector General, State Board of Medicine and the Department of State.
Additionally, Mr. Steinberg regularly assists individuals in the expungement of criminal records, as well as involuntary mental health commitments (302
commitments) and the restoration of firearm rights for those who have been deemed to have prohibitive disabilities. Mr. Steinberg also assists
students regarding educational proceedings in both secondary and post- secondary education with regard to school-imposed sanctions including suspension, expulsion and Title IX matters.
Ben has contributed to a number of legal publications focusing on trial practice and procedure.
