Driving Under the Influence

While most people are aware that certain criminal convictions can result in restrictions on their right to bear arms, most people are unaware that an involuntary mental health commitment, commonly referred to as a "302 commitment," can also result in a prohibition from purchasing, possessing and carrying a firearm. Fortunately, under recently developed law, a person who has been involuntarily committed may petition the court for restoration of their right to bear arms and, in some circumstances, an expungement of their commitment records, thereby restoring their Second Amendment Right.
